Level of Compliance with Accessibility Requirements
We are committed to digital accessibility and aim to design our website so that it is fully accessible to all users. Therefore, we continuously work to fully implement the requirements of the Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG) and the Ordinance on the Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSGV).
Our website implements the specifications of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG):
- All meaningful images include alternative text (alt attributes) describing their content; decorative graphics are marked as such (aria-hidden) so that assistive technologies can skip them.
- Headings (H1–H6) are structured logically to support screen readers and clear navigation, with a single H1 per page.
- Text and background colors are based on a defined design-token palette and meet WCAG contrast requirements for readability.
- The website is navigable using a keyboard without loss of functionality. A "Skip to content" link is available at the start of every page, allowing keyboard and screen-reader users to bypass the header navigation.
- Interactive elements (buttons, menus, accordions) provide visible focus rings and full keyboard support, including arrow-key, Home and End navigation where appropriate.
- Links are clearly recognizable and descriptive of their destination; the language of each page is declared via the html lang attribute.
- Forms are labeled programmatically, use unique identifiers for each field and provide inline error messages where applicable.
- ARIA attributes (for example aria-expanded, aria-controls, aria-labelledby, aria-selected, aria-hidden and role) are used where the native HTML semantics are not sufficient to convey the state or purpose of an element.
- Animations and transitions respect the user's "prefers-reduced-motion" setting and are disabled or reduced for users who request it.
- Responsive design ensures content is accessible on all common devices (desktop, tablet, mobile) without horizontal scrolling and without loss of information at viewport sizes down to 320 px.
- The website is built with semantic HTML5, modern React and Next.js, without legacy page-builder dependencies, so that the document structure exposed to assistive technologies mirrors the visible content.
- We regularly test our site with accessibility tools (e.g., WAVE, Lighthouse, axe) and make improvements as required.
